Percy Armando Rivera

I am Percy Armando Rivera, and my journey with art began long before I ever held a brush. As a child in Peru, I was the family “art model,” sitting still while my relatives sketched my face. In those quiet moments, I learned how emotion lives in a line, a shadow, a glance—and I knew art was where I belonged.

Years later, life brought me to Atlanta, where I rediscovered that spark. I trained in charcoal portraiture, explored every medium I could, and eventually fell in love with the bold freedom of acrylics. That’s where my voice opened up—through abstract portraiture, Fauvist color, and shapes that carry emotion beyond realism.

Today, I paint human and animal figures in vibrant, saturated hues—portraits that feel alive, curious, and full of story. My work blends the figurative with the abstract, the geometric with the expressive. Every piece is a journey of color, memory, and connection.

I paint for the people who see a bit of themselves in my work. For those who want art that speaks in color and feeling. And every time a collector’s eyes light up at a finished piece, I’m reminded why I do this.
